Mahjong Quest rules
Regions
Mahjong Quest features 4 regions (North, East, South and West), each with a different type of gameplay:
- North: Untimed Quest
- East: Timed Quest
- South: Classic Untimed
- West: Classic Timed
The ‘Quest’ gameplay means that you have to match two yin yang tiles (yellow / orange) to complete the level.
The ‘Classic’ gameplay uses the classic mahjong solitaire gameplay.
Both ‘Quest’ and ‘Classic’ can be played with a time limit or without a time limit.
Levels and coins
Each region has 12 levels, each with a different layout of the tiles.
In each level you can earn up to 3 coins, depending on your score. This means you can earn 4 x 12 x 3 = 144 coins in total.
Rules
Like in the classic mahjong solitaire, you can remove tiles by matching two identical tiles. Season and flower tiles can be matched with any other season or flower tile.
In each level you can ask for 10 hints.
Special tiles
- Yin yang tiles (yellow / orange): When matched, the level is completed.
- Multiplier tiles (purple): When matched, they increase the multiplier value.
- Wild tiles (blue): Can be matched with almost any tile.
- Wall tiles: Cannot be matched. Can be removed with firecracker tiles.
- Firecracker tiles (red): Can be used to remove a wall tile. Select a firecracker and then a playable wall tile to remove the wall tile.
- Time tiles: When matched, time tiles add time to the time countdown.
Score
When matching a tile, you earn points equal to 10 x multiplier.
In the timed mode, you can keep the multiplier bar maxed out by playing fast.
