To remove tiles you must combine 2 hex tiles of the same color. A hex is only free to selected if it has at least 3 sides open that are next to each other. It's a bit tricky to get your head around this at first, but after a game or two it will become second nature!
The developer of Crystal Hexajong is Zygomatic. They also developed the mahjong solitaire game Master Qwan's Mahjong.
